Nilhari served as Socio-economist to International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) for more than seven years. He engaged with Oxford Policy Management (OPM), IRRI, ADPC, WFP as a consultant or short-term researcher. Nilhari taught courses such as natural resource economics, food and nutritional security, and farm management to the master’s degree students at Nepal Open University (NoU) and Tribhuvan University. His three dozen publications include peer-reviewed articles in international journals, books, chapters, and working papers. Nilhari has worked extensively in East Africa and South Asia.
