Speakers stress need to raise awareness about climate change

Organized by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) Pakistan under the USAID-funded Water Management for Enhanced Productivity (WMfEP) project, the event focused on climate change’s intricate link with agriculture, a major contributor to Pakistan’s GDP. Speakers highlighted the need for awareness campaigns, scientific studies, and adaptation measures to mitigate climate-related risks. IWMI presented findings of a scientific study, warning of alarming temperature trends and the urgent need for adaptive capacity enhancement. The study offered recommendations, including water resource-focused policies and sustainable farming practices for a resilient future.
