ICID invites young professionals as well as experienced stakeholders from government, industry and academia to take part in this e-forum on February 15 to March 2, 2019. The aim is to explore the opportunities and threats involved in solar-powered irrigation systems, which many countries are promoting as a sustainble solution to rising food and energy demand as well as a means to reduce agriculture’s carbon footprint and enhance its resilience in the face of climate change impacts.
Petra Schmitter, leader of the Agriculture Water Management Research Group at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), will serve as the forum’s discussion mentor.
