Prior to joining IWMI, Sumitra worked as a Research Officer at Research and Learning Unit, BBC Media Action, Nepal. She also held the position of Research Officer at Scott Wilson Nepal, and served as Environmentalist at the Environment Friendly Local Governance Programme. In her previous roles, she was involved in studies across diverse thematic areas including climate change, disaster risk reduction, GESI, and humanitarian response.
