We interviewed Dr Giriraj Amarnath, Principal Researcher on Disaster Risk Management and Climate Resilience at International Water Management Institute (IWMI), an expert in disaster risk management, floods and droughts, satellite-based monitoring and early warning, and climate and food security, among other areas. Headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and part of the CGIAR global research partnership, IWMI is an international, research-for-development organisation that works with partners including governments, civil society and the private sector to solve water problems in developing countries and scale up solutions.
