CA publications

A new CA publication series - The water for food, water for life briefs- Introduction, issue 1 to 11. The "Water for Food, Water for Life Briefs" serie is a new CA publication. Each brief aim to clarify current debates around water management in agriculture in a descriptive way. They are based on latest findings of the assessment, and scientific knowledge. They are aimed to a non specialised audience. read the briefs.

  • CA in Brief, Influencing What Happens Next, 07/06. A brief overview of the CA, the process used to do the Assessment and the next steps.
  • Issue Brief 1 "Reaping what we Sow: Acting now to reduce the negative environmental consequences of agriculture", 07/06. It brings out key findings from the Chapter 7 "Agriculture, water and ecosystems: avoiding the costs of going too far" prepared by Malin Falkenmark, Max Finlayson, Line Gordon and co-authors.
  • Issue Brief 2 "A little water can go a long way: Reducing rural poverty through better management of rainwater", 08/ 06. It brings out the key findings of the Chapter 9 "Managing water in rainfed agriculture" prepared by Johan Rockstrom, Suhas Wani, Theib Oweis, Nuhu Hatibu and co-authors.
  • Issue Brief 3 "Making a difference in water management: A minimum agenda on gender mainstreaming for researchers, practitioners and gender experts", 08/06. It presents the results of a joint project of CA/GWA/Both ends.
