Demonstrating and promoting an innovative landscape-based solution for flood capture and subsurface storage

Overview:

UTFI, an innovative landscape-based solution for flood capture and subsurface storage solution in buffering water variability, will be demonstrated and evaluated in depth across diverse settings to create the evidence-base needed to support wider promotion and acceptance of UTFI interventions by policy and decision makers. This project will compliment and extend a CCAFS supported project which focuses on piloting UTFI in the Ganges Basin by examining opportunities at the global scale and by applying this approach across a broader range of landscapes and modalities in SA and SEA. Implementation will be done together with local partners with a strong sense of ownership reflected by substantial cash and in-kind contributions to the project.
