Project Profile

Healthy Rivers - Ayeyarwady

Duration : January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2017
(Extended to March 31, 2018)
Overview:

Understanding river health requires monitoring of trends in the river's ecological condition and its capacity to provide users with the ecosystem services they value. ICEM, IWMI, MIID and ECCDI will work together in the Ayeyarwady (and also the Salween, under MK23) to develop a River Health Framework suitable for the Myanmar context, where conventional river monitoring is rarely available. The project will draw on alternatives including remotely sensed data and community monitoring
