Project Profile

Healthy Rivers - Salween

Duration : January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2017
(Extended to March 31, 2018)
Overview:

Understanding river health requires monitoring of trends in the river?s ecological condition and its capacity to continue to provide users with the goods and services they value. IWMI, ICEM, MIID and ECCDI will work together in the Salween (and also in the Irradwaddy under MK24) to tailor a River Health Framework suitable for the Myanmar context, where conventional river monitoiring is rarely available. The program will draw on alternatives including remotely sensed data and community monitoring.
