Livestock & Irrigation Value chain for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) planning phase

Overview:

LIVES planning phase consists in preparing a Project Implementation Plan by project staff, Consultant and Regional/zonal agriculture and water resources staff. Their sequential tasks include: (1) selection of target production areas for livestock and irrigation commodities; (2) value chain mapping, stakeholder analysis and identification of broad main constraints and opportunities; (3) identification of potential interventions. In parallel a community level baseline survey is conducted, the results will serve as reference points to measure progress in the achievement of results and project objectives.
