Duration : January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010

Researchers will develop a protocol and methodology for assessing the water security impacts of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) programme using a problem solving format with a strong focus on investments. A better understanding of the water security impacts will contribute to the success of NREGA by improving the effectiveness of its implementation protocol, its ability to generate and target the supply of work on demand to the poorest rural households, and the quality and impacts of assets created through the use of NREGA funds.
