Study on sustainable management approaches to mitigate agriculture driven nature loss

The objective of this consultancy is to map the impacts of different types of agriculture on nature and to evaluate the practical solutions available to us to reduce the negative impacts of agriculture on biodiversity and ecosystem services. The study will test the strength of the evidence currently backing these solutions, consider externalities and factors not previously examined, and assess their level of applicability across a range of geopolitical and agroecological systems. It will then propose to the World Bank and its clients and investment partners a suite of solutions for which there is adequate evidence of their effectiveness at resolving the problems of nature loss, and for which all potential externalities and trade-offs have been examined, including those associated with climate change and economic viability.
