Reviving Balochistan’s water resources program
The Revival of Balochistan Water Resources Program is designed to contribute to the transition of agriculture and livestock farming systems in Balochistan achieving lower water intensity and improving environmental and economic sustainability. The program is implemented through two distinct but complementary implementing contracts working closely together under a project steering committee.
The technical assistance component in Balochistan will contribute to; strengthening the governance of water resources and rangelands; developing alternative agricultural and livestock farming systems based on low water agro-economy; and increasing the availability of qualified agro-technology cadres. The consortium is led by Landell Mills. IWMI’s USD 5 million component includes the implementation of four field research studies.
