Celebrating World Water Day
at the 9th World Water Forum
“Water security for peace and development”
March 21 – 26, 2022 | Diamniadio (Dakar) – Senegal
The Science for a Water-Secure World Initiative
Held in Dakar, Senegal, the 9th World Water Forum kicks off on Monday March 21 and runs through Saturday March 26, coinciding with World Water Day 2022 on Tuesday March 22.
Throughout the week, IWMI will engage with government officials, policymakers, partners, media outlets, researchers, development practitioners, and others to fuel progress toward the 9th World Water Forum’s goal of achieving “water security for peace and development.” We will also celebrate the vital importance of groundwater — a crucial source of climate resilience and the official theme of this year’s World Water Day observance.
We invite you to browse IWMI’s landing page for the 9th World Water Forum and World Water Day 2022. Explore our groundwater-themed multimedia content, curated research resources, and much more to learn how IWMI and our partners are working to develop innovative scalable water solutions — both in an African context and globally — to lay the foundation for a more water-secure, climate-resilient future.
