Key Facts

The value of ecosystem services to the global economy is estimated at around US$33 trillion per year.1
Environmental Flows describe the quantity, quality and timing of water flows required to sustain freshwater ecosystems.
Over 750 water professionals signed the 2007 Brisbane Declaration committing themselves to estimating environmental flow requirements for all the worlds significant rivers as quickly as possible.
