Collective Action for Corporate Water Stewardship
Water is the life blood of our planet. In Sri Lanka, over 337,000 people across 8 out of 25 districts are facing a water crisis due to the dry spell and sea water intrusion into surface water. Water Stewardship aims to take care of resources that humanity does not directly own, thereby, water stewards understand their own water consumption and map the impact of their activity and simultaneously participating in collective action towards good water management
The UN Global Compact together with the Pacific Institute, implemented the CEO Water Mandate to mobilize business leaders on six elements on Water Stewardship to manage their own water risks. The Mandate has also developed the Water Action Hub for virtual collaboration and knowledge sharing for water sustainability.
This session aims to:
- Understand the Current Water Landscape and the importance of collaboration on water in Sri Lanka
- Overview and practical utilization of the Water Action Hub Tool.
