ICRAF's work package in this project used decision analysis methods to anticipate the impacts of implementing conservation measures around a water reservoir in Burkina Faso. During a participatory workshop, prospective impacts from implementing three interventions ? dredging, check dams and buffer strips ? were explored together with local stakeholders. Workshop results were translated into a probabilistic decision model that aimed to capture all important aspects of the interventions? impact pathways and to consider all major uncertainties. These activities contributed to the establishment and refinement of decision analysis methods, and allowed exploring them in a case study related to WLE's thematic interest.
