Assessing the impact of alternative smallholder agriculture technologies on ecosystem service provision, productivity, and household incomes in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh/India

This activity is complementing a GIZ funded ICRISAT project implemented under the GIZ program on ?Soil protection and rehabilitation for food security in India?. The overall objective of the activity is to support government and non-government extension services more efficiently providing advice on locally most recommendable agricultural practices taking the impact on diverse ecosystem services into account. We intend to develop scenarios using integrated whole farm models to evaluate the impact of improved agricultural practices (including soil and water management) on households? cash flows under current and future climate conditions. The results of the scenario analyses will be discussed with stakeholders to improve the models and inform policy/extension system.
