Tony Allan is a professor of geography and an internationally esteemed expert in water resources and the political economy of water policy. whose most recent book (2001) is The Middle East Water Question: Hydro-politics and the Global Economy. While now retired from teaching, he continues to be an active researcher and supervisor of research students in the framework of the SOAS-King’s College Water Research Group which he founded.
