Padmaja Ravula

Padmaja Ravula is the Gender focal point for Asia at the CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems (WLE) based in Hyderabad, India. She is also Senior Scientist - Gender Research at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) India with Markets, Institutions, Nutrition and Diversity (MIND) under Research Program on Innovation Systems for the Drylands (ISD).

A sociologist by education and training with 20 years of interdisciplinary quantitative and qualitative research on issues related gender, nutrition, social capital and empowerment, Padmaja has unique competences of training in nutrition research as well as sociological research. She has a PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences (Specialization: Sociology) from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay.
