The lay of the land: Rights and tenure from a gender perspective

At the 2015 Global Landscapes Forum held in Paris, alongside COP21, the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and the CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems (WLE) a high-level panel on gender, landscapes and land-tenure.

The debate, which Martina Mascarenhas, Communications and Knowledge Management Coordinator for the CGIAR Gender Research Network at CIAT, has summarized below, focused on the practical requirements for implementing gender-sensitive land restoration while moving beyond the usual rhetoric on gender issues and laying to rest exaggerated gender statistics.
