World Water Forum and World Water Day

The World Water Forum is organized by the World Water Council and is the world's largest water related event. The 8th World Water Forum will take place in Brazilia, Brazil and will coincide with World Water Day, the theme of which is "The Answer is Nature."

The director general of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Dr. Claudia Sadoff, will attend and represent IWMI and WLE at this important event. She will participate in a multi-stakeholders dialogue on the water-energy-food nexus and SDG implementation.

In addition, Dr. Sadoff will participate in the launch event for the 2018 UN World Water Development Report on March 19 and 14:30-16:00. This important Report, published by UN Water, is titled "Nature based solutions for water" and includes contributions from WLE and IWMI researchers on the topics of nature based solutions for managing water availability, nature based solutions for managing water quality, and water related risks, variability and change.

Dr. Sadoff will be part of a panel discussion on “Learning from and working with nature: achieving water security through ecosystem-based solutions,” moderated by Andrew Hudson, the head of the Water and Ocean Governance Programme at UNDP. Learn more.
