Hi

With the drought and water crisis we are experiencing in Cape Town, some people have come forward saying that the Western Cape is on a path to becoming a desert much like Namibia and the Karoo. They say that climate change is affecting us more than our government is prepared to acknowledge and their approach to believing that our winter rainfall will pull us out of this situation is like an ostrich burying its head in the sand.

Where would I be able to find information about what is truly happening in our region? We obviously cant believe our local or national government as theyve been proved to have known about the impending crisis as far back as 2009 and have done nothing in all this time to secure water sources or build the necessary infrastructure. Right now we are preparing for our taps to run dry on 21 March as declared by government. We have no idea how long this will last.
