Quite an interesting topic especially as groundwater forms the nucleus of livelihood around this region. It is a call for effecient policies that will effectively govern groundwater exploration, exploitation and management. The failure of this leads to competition for this scarce and diminishing resource which has conflict as its far reaching consequence which creates instability and threat to lives and properties within any region. Out migration in search of less competitive regions will in the long-run translate to rapid urbanisation, resource stress and the adherent challenges that come with it in the host communities, while reducing manpower and productivity in the communities from which they once lived. Not to mention Food in security which is usually the end factor.
