Before IWMI
Imran worked as team member of WG1 of Earth Commission at the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). He has about 15 years of experience in the fields of regional climate modelling, statistical downscaling, climate extremes, climate change adaptation and impact assessment. During his PhD and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, Imran worked on over 40 national and international projects on climate change funded by the Austrian Climate Research Programme (ACRP), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), EU\'s Sixth Framework Programme and Horizon 2020. He has also worked as an individual consultant/climate change expert in collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects of donor agencies-- ADB, FCDO and WWF--over Pakistan. He has been involved in policymaker and stakeholder discussions, mentored master\'s and PhD students, and taught courses at the PhD level.
