Expertise
Ankita\'s expertise includes water allocation issues within the agriculture sector in her research while addressing water policies and socio-economic systems. Her passion is applying water resources modeling knowledge to inland and coastal zone case studies globally to build a sound framework for decision-making in the water sector. She worked with intense databases (surface-groundwater resources, hydrogeology, climate, agriculture, etc.) from various sources (remote sensing and government officials). Her overall research background is assessing water resources monitoring, and modelling with generating water budgeting for resilience water management practices.
Before IWMI
Ankita is a Water Researcher, professional Hydrogeologist, and a Civil Engineer with over 6 years of work experience. Ankita joins IWMI from Utrecht University, Netherlands, and with Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment, India. She worked as an External Research Consultant – Hydrologist and Water Resources Specialist at CTARA, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW), IIT Madras. She also worked as a Guest Lecturer at IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education, Delft for one module course. She recently published her two research articles as an outcome of her master\'s thesis at IHE Delft. She holds a Master of Science in Water Science and Engineering with a specialization in Hydrology and Water Resources from IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education in Delft, Netherlands, a Master of Civil Engineering with a specialization in Hydrology and Water Resources from the Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India and Bachelors of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
