Outstanding Scientific Article AwardDr. K. Palanisami of IWMI Hyderabad and ICRISAT Team were awarded the Outstanding Scientific Article Award

Dr. Palanisami with the ICRISAT team received the Outstanding Scientific Article Award for their research paper entitled “Bio-economic modelling of farm household decisions for ex-ante impact assessment of integrated watershed development programs in semi-arid India”  that was published in the Journal `Environment, Development and Sustainability’ in 2013.  The article was based on the work done by ICRISAT team and Dr. K. Palanisami of IWMI.  This award was presented to the team on the occasion of ICRISAT’s Annual Day Celebration.


Simon Langan

IWMI East Africa wins Italian award

Florence, June 5.

Simon Langan, head of IWMI’s Addis Ababa office, accepted the Il Monito del Giardino Environmentalist Award on behalf of all IWMI East Africa staff during a ceremony held at the University of Florence. Simon delivered a presentation on Insights into the Nile River Basin: Opportunities and Constraints for the Future. In making the award, the judges singled out IWMI’s research on “technological innovation and the enhancement of traditional practices in water management to reduce poverty, to promote food security and economic growth.” Read more about this award.
