Post-Doctoral Fellowships

The Post-Doctoral Fellowship program provides recent PhD recipients with the opportunity to further their careers by working with researchers and on projects in line with IWMI’s goal to provide innovative water solutions for sustainable development.

Candidates for Post-Doctoral positions will hold a recent PhD in an area relevant to current IWMI research. Fellowships are awarded for two years and will work on projects in line with their areas of expertise. (Applications from those who have already worked as Post-Doctoral Fellows at IWMI will not be considered.)

Benefits

In addition to their base salary, Post Doctoral Fellows receive a transportation allowance of $400 per month and 24 days annual leave. They are covered by an Institute-paid insurance package, which is comprised of life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), long term disability (LTD) and travel accident insurance. The Fellow and their eligible dependents are also covered by a comprehensive international health insurance plan.

Fellows who are employed at a duty station outside of their home base/country of nationality will also receive relocation assistance, a housing allowance, home-leave plane tickets for self and eligible dependents and education assistance for up to three children between kindergarten and grade 12 in secondary school.

IWMI also encourages staff development by providing support for membership to professional organizations directly related to the discipline of the Post-Doctoral Fellow.
