IWMI Researcher Receives Young Scientist Award from NAST

Tushaar ShahDr. Vishnu Prasad Pandey, Acting Country Representative at Nepal office of International Water Management (IWMI), has been awarded with the prestigious “Youth Science and Technology Award 2074 BS” by the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). The award was conferred on July 3, 2018 by Mr. Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, the Minister for Education, Science and Technology & Pro-Chancellor of the NAST. Dr. Pandey received this award for his extensive research and scientific contributions in the areas of groundwater research.

NAST (www.nast.gov.np), previously RONAST, is an autonomous apex body established in 1982 to promote science and technology in Nepal. NAST confers this award annually to up to five young scientists of below 40 years of age from Nepal in recognition of their scientific contributions to their respective fields of expertise.

 


 

Tushaar Shah receives the Distinguished Associate Award

Tushaar ShahThe IAH Distinguished Associate Award is presented to a person who is not a groundwater professional but has made an outstanding contribution to the understanding, development, management and protection of groundwater resources internationally. The Award was established by the IAH Council in 2005 and is made by the IAH Executive Committee following consultation. The Award for 2018 was presented to Dr Tushaar Shah, economist and public policy specialist.
