Scroll.in: A call for “water-sensible” urbanization policies in India

An article in Scroll.in, an award-winning news portal in India, calls on state governments to devise “water-sensible urbanization policies” in partnership with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI).

Citing the Institute’s publication Watershed moments: A photographic anthology celebrating 30 years of research for a water-secure world, the article calls attention to successful efforts to conserve wetlands for poverty reduction in Malawi and Zambia as well as IWMI’s collaborative efforts with the state government of Gujarat to curb over-extraction of groundwater.
