IWMI’s official Twitter account recorded its 5000th follower today. Since July 2009 IWMI has steadily been attracting Twitter followers. IWMI carefully crafts its tweets, making extensive use of hashtagging (which allows people to search for tweets of interest to them that have a common topic), to draw attention to new publications and institutional news. The account has been attracting 120 new followers, on average, every month to reach the current total.
