Water Conservation and Water Productivity Improvement in the Syrdarya and Amu-Darya Basins (Best Practices Central Asia)

Placeholder for layout

The main objective of this project is to contribute to activities on poverty reduction in Central Asia through water conservation by applying effective technical, operational and organizational measures and methods.  This is carried out by classifying and analyzing the “best “practice for water conservation in the pilot plots and by studying the impacts of water conservation methods/activities on productivity of agricultural water use.  This project also undertakes to assess economical, social and technical opportunities and constraints for adoption of “best” water/land conservation practices at a larger scale and to make recommendations for the most effective water conservation methods and operational measures.
