IWMI-Stockholm Visiting Scientists

The new IWMI-Stockholm Visiting Scientists program (ISVS) provides an exciting opportunity for researchers to join the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) for a year. This will equip them with new knowledge and skills to help them and their respective institutions respond to the complex challenges of water, land and ecosystem management.

The program will also help to build strong partnerships between IWMI and national research organizations in the countries in which the Institute works. This is essential for driving the future research agenda, and putting solutions into practice.

The program was established following IWMI’s receipt of the prestigious Stockholm Water Prize in 2012. The award was given for IWMI’s pioneering research that has improved water productivity, enhanced food security, and contributed to economic development and environmental health in Asia and Africa.

Admission to the scheme is by invitation only and open to scientists in relevant disciplines from Africa and Asia.

This year is the first in what we hope will be a rolling, annual program. We have welcomed six researchers from developing countries to improve their skills across a range of disciplines related to improved water management. You can access their profiles by clicking their photos or names below.
