Nirmal Sigtia holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from the ICFAI University, Dehradun. He also holds BA degree and CDAC diploma from one of the best academic institutions in India.

Nirmal joined the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) New Delhi as an Administrative Officer in Jan 2012. Prior to joining IWMI, He had worked as an Administrative Assistant at World Health Organization (WHO) located at Delhi, India. He has also worked as an HR officer at Welspun Corp. Ltd. Gujarat. At IWMI, he is involved with CCAFS projects
