Prasanna is responsible for managing, developing and leading the libraries of IWMI, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and The WorldFish
Center, Penang, Malaysia, and also for providing shared high level information/knowledge management library services to all
researchers of both centers. Prior to joining IWMI in 2005, she has worked at FAO library in Rome, Italy (2001-2005) and at
ICRISAT library in Patancheru, India (1974-2001).

She was a member of the team that developed AGORA, an FAO initiative to provide free online access to agricultural journals for
developing countries. While managing AGORA, including registration of institutions, she contributed significantly to its content
development, promotion, training and preparation of training materials.

She is highly proficient in creating, providing, managing and reviewing User Services including user needs assessment and user
training. She is an expert in evaluation and quality control of electronic information services and products. Advanced and value
added searching of literature in bibliographic databases is her forte.
