Paresh Shirsath holds a Ph.D. in Water Science and Technology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). Before joining International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Paresh, worked as Research Scientist in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). At ISRO, he worked with the responsibilities of hydrological modeling and thematic support for Water Resources Project Information System (India-WRIS). During graduate studies he worked on evaporation and evapotranspiration modeling, overland flow and solute transport in surface irrigation.

Currently he is a Spatial Modeling-Specialist, in IWMI office in New Delhi. He is associated with CCAFS project. His research interests are hydrologic modelling, crop modelling, ANN etc.
