| Peter McCornick is Deputy Director, General (Research) at the International Water Management Institute, based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Throughout his career his focus has been to improve the understanding and sustainable management of water resources. He has led research and development programs on water, agriculture and the environment in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Present areas of particular interest include water and food security, the water-food-energy nexus, water reuse, irrigation management, and water and climate adaptation. Peter is a licensed professional civil engineer in US State of Colorado, a member of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers, a senior fellow at Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy and an affiliate of the Faculty of Geosciences, Warner College of Natural Resources, Colorado State University. He has contributed to over 30 peer reviewed publications, and regularly presents at major international events. |
