| Peter McCornick is Deputy Director, General (Research) at the International Water Management Institute, based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Throughout his career, he has contributed to understanding and enhancing the knowledge base, and developing solutions for improving the sustainable management of water resources. He has led and managed water, agricultural and environment research and development programs in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. With a professional water resources and agricultural engineering education and experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams, he has worked and lived in a range of cultural, physical and socio-economic conditions. Present areas of particular interest include water and food security, water-food-energy, water reuse, irrigation management, and water and climate adaptation. Peter is a Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Colorado, a member of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE), a Senior Fellow at Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Institute, and Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Geosciences, Warner College of Natural Resources, Colorado State University. He has publishing over 30 peer reviewed publications, and regularly presents at major relevant international events. |
