DEEPSHIKHA SHARMA

Deepshikha Sharma is a doctoral scholar with TERI University (Delhi) working on water-quality management for Delhi stretch of the River Yamuna. She has won Gold Medal for merit in Masters of Sciences (Environment Management). She graduated from Delhi University (2001) followed by masters in 2004 from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (Delhi). She has qualified Lectureship-National Eligibility Test research fellowship from UGC (India). She is also a Biovision-Nxt Fellow, Lyon, France (2009) and TWAS-Nxt Fellow, Biovision, Alexandria, Egypt (2008). She has begun to present her research work at international and national conferences, and has four peer-reviewed articles in international journal. She has contributed a book chapter to solid waste management in Delhi and also co-authored a monograph for Lambert publications. In 2009, she held a one-month internship in river quality modelling at Ecole des mines Institute in St Etienne, France.
In the past, she has worked as a consultant to RENEWERGY (India); correspondent to InWEA (Indian Wind Energy Association) and programme manager for Masters' of Sustainable Development Practice (TERI University). During her research, she has given special attention to environmental modelling, GIS, remote sensing, hydro power and economic evaluation of water quality. She has also gained exposure in water-energy-carbon nexus, carbon and water foot printing and techno-commercial feasibility study for Renewable Energy initiatives. |
