Amit has an experience of 7 years of working mainly in natural resource management. Prior to joining IWMI, he gained experience in working with government agencies, non-government organization and corporate sector in India.

Amit has a M.Sc. in Zoology with specialization in Environmental Biology from University of Allahabad, India. Before joining IWMI, he gained his second M.Sc. in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management which is a joint program of Erasmus Mundus executed in collaboration of four different eminent universities of Europe. Amit specializes in the application of Remote Sensing and GIS technology in the filed ranging from forestry, landscape ecology to biodiversity/wildlife conservation and land use/land cover analysis. He has been actively involved in planning, team management, troubleshooting and implementation of various natural resource management and Remote Sensing/GIS related projects in his prior assignments.

At IWMI, he works mainly with CCAFS project in South Asia and is involved in its Remote Sensing/GIS and Crop modeling activities.
