IWMI assisted UNOPS with the planning of the Agri Exhibition and Fair and also had a publications booth at the exhibition with a special focus on our RRR work as IWMI is currently working on a project with UNOPS on Solid Waste Management in Batticaloa. The objective of the project is to recommend business strategies for the recovery and productive reuse of municipal solid waste (MSW) of five compost plants in the Batticaloa district, with a view of ensuring the provision of sustainable waste management services by the respective local authorities. The project is part of an UNOPS initiative to develop cost-effective and sustainable integrated MSW management services in the east of Sri-Lanka.
