Unesco-ihe.org: Lunch Seminar: Water Management in Developing World – Adapting to Increasing Variability and Change

The presentation will look into recent research at International Water Management Institute that deals with assessing impacts of and adaptation to increasing variability in water resources due to climate change and other global change drivers. Examples include quantification of climate change impacts, the issue of water storage continuum and planned storage development in Africa, groundwater banking in Central Asia and managed aquifer recharge as one possible adaptation option in India, introduction of environmental flows into basin planning in India and Azerbajan, global mapping of drought characteristics and discussion of the need for immediate and global sharing all hydrometeorological data.
